(DFW AIRPORT, 德州, 10月. 28, 2019) – Dallas 沃斯堡 International (DFW) Airport customers will have another destination in the South Pacific to choose from with the addition of American 航空公司' non-stop service to 奥克兰, 新西兰. The service will be available for sale on November 9, 2019, 和 flights will operate from 10月ober 2020 with American's state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9.
奥克兰, located on the North Isl和 of 新西兰, is the country's largest city 和 is host to major sporting events, 节日, high-end shopping, 音乐会, 和 full of world-class food 和 wine. Forty-eight volcanic cones can be found across 奥克兰 和 the city is full of art galleries, 博物馆, 和 Māori cultural attractions including contemporary art, 历史, 和 guided tours.
"The addition of non-stop service between DFW Airport 和 奥克兰 is great news for our customers 和 all of North 德州, giving the millions who pass through our Airport annually more choices when making travel plans 和 providing economic benefit for the entire region," said Sean Donohue, chief executive officer at DFW Airport. "Our partnership with American 航空公司 continues to bring record growth for DFW Airport, with more passengers during the past year than the Airport has seen in any of the past 15 years."
The Airport welcomed 73.3 million customers during fiscal year 2019, a 6.1 percent increase from the previous year, 和 has added or announced non-stop service to 30 new destinations since January 2019. The growth is driven in large part by a surge in international service, with DFW Airport welcoming 9.4 million international passengers during fiscal year 2019. This marks an 8.8 percent increase in international passengers compared to the previous year. 奥克兰 is the 14th new international destination added since January 2019.
To continue future growth, DFW Airport remains committed to working closely with American 航空公司 on plans for 终端 F. While design 和 operational plans are still being finalized, a long-term projection of up to 24 gates in the new facility will help address the continued growth at the Airport, as well as accommodate a changing aviation industry, utilizing innovative technologies to facilitate the movement of customers, maintain cost efficiencies for airlines 和 improve operational performance.
